I recently bought a 2012 Honda Fit w/ navigation from them, and I'm pretty pleased. I asked for a crapload of quotes all over SoCal, and although their quote was not the cheapest, when I spoke on the phone to the internet rep. that dealt with my request, Chris S., he was willing to match my best quote AND find me the car in my preferred color choice. Sweet! Of course, to be fair, the Fits are so cheap, all the dealer quotes were within $500 of each other, but still, why pay $500 more than I have too, right?

Anyhow, when I got to the dealer, I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop...for the old switcheroo...it never happened. I came with my own financing from my credit union, so the whole transaction was pretty smooth.

The only thing that keeps me from giving them 5-stars is that there was a lot of waiting around...I'm not sure for what. Even though we negotiated everything ahead of time, I was still at the dealer for close to 3 hours! The wait for the financing person was longer than it should have been, and I felt a little pressured to buy the dealer add-ons (extended warranty, etc.), but the power of cheap won out and I successfully resisted. Yay, me. Lol.

All in all, a pretty pleasant experience as far as car-buying goes. Chris S. was pleasant and honest. The whole sales experience was pretty good, at least if you pre-negotiated the price. I saw some guy next to me who appeared to have just walked in, and he got up and started leaving 2-3 times, and each time, the sales guy pulled him back to talk. It looked exhausting. Haha. So, save yourself the hassle. Negotiate yourself the best deal ahead of time. If it happens to be with Penske Honda, then go for it. Don't let the mediocre Yelp reviews scare you - which seem to be aimed more at their service department, which I can't speak to since the Fit won't need servicing (hopefully) until 105,000 miles. Woo-hoo! Lol.

I took the plunge and replaced my 11 year old Infiniti G20 with a brand new 2012 Honda Civic EX-L. I had been to other dealerships and Shane D. helped me out by telling me about Ken Haynes, one of the fleet managers at Penske. Ken said that he'd beat any price I'd been given at other dealers and he did. He even got me the accessories I specified too! I made sure that I was pre-approved through Honda Financial because they were running a 0.9% APR during the 4th of July weekend. They didn't have the color of the model I wanted in stock, so I had to wait until their next shipment of cars.

Sure enough, a few weeks later, my car arrived. They actually put my name on it so that no one else could test drive or buy it. Because of my awesome credit score, I was able to lock in the 0.9% rate for a month. They put the accessories on for me even though I hadn't even signed any paperwork yet. The car had 8 miles on it when I came in to pick it up. I was super excited and happy with my experience here. I docked one star because they couldn't give me a decent price on my trade-in so I had to go somewhere else. Other than that, my experience was positive. I was in and out within 2 hours. Thanks to Ken and to Penske Honda Ontario.
